I heard that Southern's nursing school is on probation due to their low passing rate and that they might not be accepting students next semester. I heard that the Dean and the new Chair are very vicious and actually tells their students that they don't care about their personal problems at home! I understand that you have to do your work but come on guys show some concern. What kind of institution treats their students like this? If anyone has heard they same pleae let me know because I also heard that Southern has alot of good teachers but their administration sucked to high hell. If anyone goes to southern please let me know what you think.

BUMMER, I heard some things similar and it is such a shame for the students to have to spend so much time and effort, not to mention money at that school and wind up not being able pass the NCLEX. I am considering McNese State and not have to worry about passing test and getting the right educational material to pass boards. As far as the treatment of students I hear that the instructors are good, some never even saw the dean before and others have had really bad experiences with the dean. I hope that none of it is true but why are people saying bad things like this to begin with?

i have been hearing rumors like this for a while..does anyone what their pass/fail ration really is??
i hope that we can have classes added at a nearby school we need nurses and my hope is that southern can get their act together or that one of the other school will take up the slack

I Hate Southern University In Baton Rouge!!!!!!!! They Are So Lame, The Teachers, The Administration And Some Of The Students! I Went There For 2 Semesters And I Could Not Stand It Anymore. You Pay All That Money For Tuition And On Top Of That Lab Fees And For What? Teachers Were Breaking Down Tuesday And Wednesday (3:45p - 6:45p) Classes To Just Tuesday 4-5p. Then For Lab Classes Where You Pay Lab Fees You Never Have The Supplies For Which You Need To Take Test.

(cont) As Far As The Nursing School, I Wouldn't Send My Dog To Be Trained There! Why Go To A School And End Up Not Having The Knowledge To Pass Test They Are Suppose To Prepare You To Take? I Know Of Many Students Who Are Still Not Working Because They Can Not Pass The Nclex. What Are They Doing Over There? If There Scores Are So Low They Shouldn't Be Allowed To Continue To Waste Students Time And Money At That School!
