Lafayette is in the heart of cajun country...the food and the people are #1...there are several large medical facilities and also many ltc facilities...
getting a school nurse job may be a horse of another color, however, with so many nurses with school age children, these jobs, with time off when the kids are off, are hard to get...

hi i'm sue and i was born and raised in lafayette. i lived in many subdivisions/areas of lafayette and here are some of my faves:

Saints Street area
(all the street names are saints and the neighborhood is adorable. lots of little 1940's houses kept up very well. can be pricey but a good deal can be found. its also close to many medical facilities and ULL.)

its been a while since i've lived in an apt. in lafayette so i'd have to recommend something newer like the ones in River Ranch. that place is beautiful and close to the Heart Hospital & Women's & Childrens Hospital.

Sorry i cant be of more help concerning price. its been so long since i've rented and honestly, it varies a lot.

-Sue
