New Charity Hopeful! Hi!

Hi y'all!

Starting nursing pre-reqs at DCC City Park at the end of August and am scared/excited out of my mind! I already have a bachelor's in business with minors in management and music, so I have a few classes to take. Taking BIOL 141 (because I need the pre-req to A & P/Micro) and PSYC 127 this semester (already had 127 the first time around but no science classes whatsoever; thought 127 would be helpful... Didn't do well the first time around in it anyway.)

Anyhow, scared because DCC seems a bit uninformed since the storm, but it's the best option for me price-wise (I'm getting a ton of conflicting information). Had the equivalent of Math 118 and English 101 before and they're telling me I don't need to worry about placement or re-taking classes, but I'm a bit unsure.

Anyone else been in my situation? Or pseudo-situation?

Thanks! Sorry, I'm so excited to start even pre-reqs that I'm all hyped up!

Re: New Charity Hopeful! Hi!

I can relate to your situation. I also have a degree from another university in another state and decided to go back to school to become a nurse after moving to Louisiana. Things at DCC can be a little disorganized, but I have just learned to be patient. Just make sure you make copies of everything because things do seem to get misplaced. Try to make an appointment with one of the department of arts and sciences advisors they can go through your transcripts and clarify which courses you still need to take. If you are ever in doubt about something transferring for credit, just ask real politely for it in writing. I did that for my math requirements.

Hope this helps!
