Question LPN refresher-PLEASE

Does anybody have info on an LPN refresher course in Southeast LA. Actually, I would probably travel anywhere, pay anything....
I have called every tech school I can think of and most have no idea what I am talking about. Laffayette General has one, but 4 yr out of practice is the max. I am about 6. I am beginning classes at Southeastern with the intention of doing the LPN to RN track. But I need my LPN back first. Any help is appreciated.

Re: LPN refresher-PLEASE

Call the LBPNE @ 504-838-5791. They should be able to help you. Are you applying for summer -08 for the LPN to RN Bridge?

Re: LPN refresher-PLEASE

Yeah, I have called the board about 682 times. They might give me my license back just so I will leave them alone. They have a list of schools and tell me just to keep calling.

No, I won't be starting the bridge program this year. I have a couple semesters worth of prereqs to do. Do they start the program every summer? I don't know a whole lot about it other than what I have read on the website. A family friend graduated from the BSN program and had a good experience there.

Re: LPN refresher-PLEASE

I had the same problem and literally broke down in tears of frustration while talking to the Board secretary on the phone November of last year. I just happened to mention that the last 5 years were spent caring for my ill parents. Guess what? they told me to email a copy of my expired LPN license, driver's license and any other ID, along with a letter describing what type of care was given to my parents (Dx, etc) and any other care I might have provided to family members, friends, etc as well as any volunteer work. I wrote it, sent it and had my reinstated license in 4 days. Hope this helps! Good luck

Re: LPN refresher-PLEASE

rnam: Yes, they accept a new class every summer. I have one more semester of prereqs and I'm hoping to begin in the summer.

Time2GetRN: Good idea! I remember seeing something about that on my license renew this year.
