Smile Re: Info on Baton Rouge General Hosp School of Nursing?

I am a senior student at BRGSON. I researched all the local schools and asked around before I started. I heard then and now hear often, that the BRG grads are well trained and ready to be nurses. The teachers at the school really care about each student and make every effort to help you succeed. It is a very challenging program and many do not make it. We started with a class of 46 and now have 25 or the original class. You must make an 80% average to pass. I had a 4.0 on my prereqs, but haven't had an A average since! No one in the class does! So it is a wonderful school, but you must be prepared to study, study, study and to attend 5 days a week. A few work while attending, but this makes it even more difficult. I don't mean to be negative, but just trying to present a realistic picture.

Thanks for the reply Deb! Thought no one would by now. I know it is a smaller student body than some, but thought I would get more responses. Thanks, again...

I know that this was a much older post, but I was wondering if you can tell me how strict and rigorous was the program. I had heard that the BRGSON program is a lot more difficult than other nursing programs.
