I never worked in a hospital, and don't really even know how to find the information I'm looking for. I want to drop out ! My family is freaked out because I've been after this for so long. Do RNs really and truly do care plans like this on the job? If so, I don't know if I will make it in the "real world". Any tips for clinicals would be appreciated. Going out of town for a couple of days, hope it helps to calm my nerves,,,I'm going dowwwwnnnnn.
Hang in there! It gets easier. I remember having to sit up all night trying to get those $@2$@@% things done. Fortunately, I'm down to my last 3 weeks of clinical in nursing school and the care plans are gone.
They bash us with them because they are trying to make us think like nurses. It is not a pointless task.
Several students in my class are LPNs and they have said that the main difference between RN training and LPN training is that you are taught why you are doing things. Those care plans will teach you critical thinking skills you never thought you had!
You'll be fine! We all have our moments of hating nursing school!
