Charity texts

I'm starting basics this August and have heard from a couple of people that some of the texts aren't necessary- esp the pharm text. Can any of y'all who have already been through back this up? I'd rather not spend the $ if I don't have to, so any info is appreciated.
TIA

Re: Charity texts

Get the Test Success book, a nursing diagnosis book, a drug guide, a good NCLEX review book, and if the Medical Surgical Nursing text is on the list, def. get it b/c you will use it throughout. Forget the rest. Congrats...and good luck!

Re: Charity texts

Don't bother with the pharmacology text. I did not use it once, and the instructor will tell you the same thing-she will give you everything you need.
