Reopro and beedrest post PCI

I work in a short stay unit, where PCI's are regularly given Reopro post procedure. We are looking in to protocols for mobilisation wit hReopro infusions both following Collagen closures (Angioseal) and sheath removal. We have until lately maintained bedrest until the infusion has completed, but now we are looking at whether this is too early as some liturature advises maintaining bedrest for 6 - 8 hrs post completion of infusion. Your input is appreciated.

Re: Reopro and beedrest post PCI

We have a protocol post PCI's to start Integrillin, however the doc decides how long to use. I've seen some write for one bottle only...and others for 12 hours post. Bedrest afterward is normally 6 hrs (or till next AM if complications) post PCI, then wedge pressure dsg for maybe 4 hrs.

Re: Reopro and beedrest post PCI

I think that being more conservative with bed rest times for reopro Pts will decrese the number of bleeders. consider an order for morphine/lorazapam to help them through
