Unhappy Mom to a 2 year old and looking for better schedule.

I have a wonderful little girl who I only see about three days a week at the moment. I have been working a lot of four day weeks and picking up my daughter only to get home at about 830 and put her to bed....wake up the next morning and do the same thing. I am looking for anyone who may have suggestions for a better schedule. I would even prefer to work four and five 8 hour days a week just to get home and spend some time with her everyday. I contacted an agency and they dont have 8 hour positions available. I could do PRN I guess but then I would have to float around every unit. I guess I'm just not sure which way to go. There must be a few options out there.

Have you thought about finding a WOW (work on weekends) position somewhere? You will usually work 2 days, and get paid for 3. Plus, you can still get benefits if you need to.

Re: Mom to a 2 year old and looking for better schedule.

Hi, I raised three boys and found nursing night shift 10 or 12 hr was a good option. The boys did not even realise I went to work half the time as I was there to kiss them goodnight and there when they woke up. Or I agree with the last reply that weekends is also a good option, less days and more money.
