hey, with a year and half, you should have quite a few basic skills down, this REALLY helps!!!!
We give new and floor RN's 12 weeks which includes classes for hemodynamics, iCU drugs, pacemakers, EKG, Resperatory (vents and ABG's), and IABP(I don't think you'll be doing that?).
You can do it !!!! BUt you'll need to read alot at home.
I don't know how your orientation will be, (many people feel differently about this..) but My experience in training others has shown me that one preceptor works best, that way I am completely familiar with your strenghts, weaknesses and clinical experience needs. When you float around between preceptors, it can be like starting over some days... just food for thought
I'm excitied for you.... Good luck!
