WOOO HOOOO!! Congratulations on rocking on the GRE!!! WAY TO GO!!

Yes the Dennison book's title is "Pass CCRN", and I think the best price is on Amazon. You have to be careful if you order it used that it actually comes with the CD with questions. I would also make sure you get the 3rd edition...there are many more questions. It is really the CD that is invaluable. The book is too dense, but can be used as a resource.

took the test this afternoon, was really easy, easier than i expected, as usual i overstudied, passed with an 86% overall, my achilles heel was MODS, i HATE that section arrhhh, but its all over, thanks to yall for all the encouragement and for those waiting to take it, it really is not tricky i acutally knew i passed as soon as i was done....a feeling i was lacking when i took the NCLEX because u had to choose the best answer between 2 really good options, in the CCRN u just have to pick the RIGHT answer, hence it removes second guessing between 2 good answers...
Now to stomp on the CSC and the GRE is my next mission...
YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!! godsgem!!! CCRN certified nurse!! Congratulations!!! a thousand times!! There was no doubt!!!!

What has the reception been like for you at work? Or has the word not gotten around yet? I'll bet your daughter is very proud of you!! (in her own way) What are you going to do for a special reward for yourself? I hope you don't skip that part. We need to celebrate our accomplishments in nursing (and life). hehe!! very cool godsgem! Keep in touch about how people react....

Re: Anyone else studying for CCRN exam?

Just found this thread today.... I have started studying AGAIN to take the CCRN test... but something always gets me distracted... would love to say I have done it and passed... Have a small study group and I am trying to push myself to stay focused.... Any good advice for me.... Whose study guide was the best.... Were the pass CCRN test questions enough of a study guide or does it take a variety?

Thanks guys....

Hello bfjworr! You have definitely found the right thread!!

The Pass CCRN (Dennison, 3rd edition) is definitely enough test questions to get your certification. What is invaluable is the CD of questions that comes with the book. We have found that the percentage of correct questions you attain on that CD correlates almost exactly to the real exam. A few people have actually done better on the actual exam than on the PASS CCRN CD, but no one has actually done worse. So we have found that it is an excellent way to predict when you are ready to take the exam and that you will pass!! Some of the questions are verbatim the exact same on both. Don't study from the book, it is way too much information, but use it as a reference. The best price is on http://www.amazon.com/Pass-CCRN%C2%A...3936042&sr=8-1

There are a lot of courses out there that will give you the information that you need. But, what the consensus has been is the CCRN DVD review course by Dr Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio. She is such a masterful teacher and presents the material a way that really helps you learn. You will never be bored watching her course. Her website is http://greatnurses.com and she also has a book of questions with rationales that many have found helpful...

Also, the website http://pacep.org give an awesome 2 part tutorial on hemodynamics. I didn't worry too much about the quizzes, but going through the tutorials is extremely helpful. The quality is awesome.

Have you joined the AACN? Do you have a timeframe in mind?

Thanks for posting! There are several nurses presently in the process of studying, which can be very empowering. There is no doubt that you will pass with those 3 references, no kidding!!

you can do it!!!

Re: Anyone else studying for CCRN exam?

For those of you who used the Pass CCRN CD for practice questions (and passed the CCRN):
What was your average score on the practice exams before you took the CCRN? Did it seem to correlate with your CCRN score? What is the score needed to pass the CCRN exam?
I've already watched the Gasparas DVDs and now am focusing on just practice questions from the Dennison CD. My average score has been around 60 (and anywhere up to 80%). I'm taking the exam in 1.5 weeks.

Hi putmetosleep,

You need 70% to pass the CCRN certification exam.

Personally, I was getting about 85% on the Dennison questions and I passed the CCRN exam at 85%. Everyone on this thread either did almost exactly the same, or they actually did a little better on the actual exam. So it is a very good predictor of when you are ready. I would say that if you are consistently getting about 75% and above on Dennison, you will definitely pass the exam ( just to give you a little cushion for possible exam anxiety, etc). You are doing great! If you can just get your scores a little more consistent, you will rock the exam!!

Good luck!! Keep posting and let us know how it is going!!
