Adult Critical Care Course/New grad

Hi everyone! I was hoping you all could help me with a question. I am a new grad, and just had a great interview for an ICU position. I will be an intern for 6 months, which sounded great and they also said that I will take an online course to get my CCRN, I think with Indiana U. They said that I will spend 12 hours a week for 13 weeks doing this. Getting paid for it as well. What a great oppertunity huh! Very excited. So the question is... is this the same course that some of you have mentioned studying for? And if I need say 2000 direct care hours to qualify, how will I do that?
Confused here.. any info on the process appreciated.

Re: Adult Critical Care Course/New grad

It may be a critical care course..? It can't be the CCRN, as you have to have the requisite bedside hours in ICU before becoming eligible to apply for the CCRN certification exam.

It could also be a CCRN prep course that your institution is using for critical care ed. You can take the course, but won't be eligible for the CCRN, until you have the required hours under your belt for that.
