Hi! Does anyone have any info about lpn to rn bridge programs in the louisville area? I went to spencerian and won't go back. There has to be other options out there! Thanks!

Hi! JCC has one, Louisville Health Institute has a brand new one, and Ivy Tech on your side of the river has one. The only one I wouldn't recommend is Lou. Health Inst. Their LPN program is really bare-bones, so who knows what their bridge program is like. I've attended classes at both JCC and Ivy Tech. Ivy Tech is much more organized and has a higher NCLEX pass rate (or they did last time I checked). I do rate JCC high on my list for their gen ed instructors, though. They are both accredited- I don't know if LHI is or not.

I don't know what kind of experiences Indiananurse had, but I do not recommend them either. I just graduated from the LPN program and there were a grand total of 3, yes 3, of us in the graduating class from our original class of over 50. The other 5 students were made up of repeaters and night students who failed the first time. Tons of drama with this place! I don't want to get into specifics online, but the school's got several issues. I heard from the board of nursing they are getting ready to be shut down... big shock. I too am at a loss for where to go for my RN.

....It was total chaos. That just about wraps it up. Go anywhere but there. It was high drama, and they didn't have consistant quality instructors for all of the classes. One day you would have this wonderful instructor for ob class, and the next you would have this dingbat that should not even be teaching a college class. I heard they fired her after I left the school, so at least no one else would have to deal with her. She was old and completely mental. One class she told us that our ability to dial the emergency # 911 came from what happened on the 9/11 terrorist attacks. What an idiot. Anyway, I am looking for another place to finish my RN.
