Finally another EKU student, where have you been. I start on the 20th and am excited. What have you heard about the program.

I feel the same way, finally someone from EKU. I am in the ADN program and graduate in Dec 2007. I don't know much about the 4 yr program but the ADN program is a killer. My class atarted out with 104 students and we have 60 in our class now and that includes the ones we picked up who unfortunately didn't pass a class and had to be reaccepted. From what I have heard the 4 yr program is a lot slower paced though so you will probably will do fine.

Finally there are other EKU students. I have been telling other students about this website. I am in the 2 year program and graduate Spring 2008. Seems like eternity!! Its only the first week of school and I can already feel the pressure. Good luck to you all!!!

Hey everyone! I just registered today and I honestly didn't expect to see anyone else from EKU. I am doing the BSN...well pre- BSN for now. I am taking NSC 242 and 252 right now...I am planning on taking 232 and applying next semester.

Hey guys. Congrats on getting accepted at EKU. I didn't start out at EKU, (I got my initial associate's nursing degree at a community college), but I did the RN-BSN through eastern and I am currently in the master's degree program (family nurse practitioner track). I advise any of you guys to keep going. Whether you're starting out in the ADN or the BSN track, go as far as you can. Nursing can be a tough profession, and the more education the better. Also, do it while you are still going to school. They say that once you quit, it's harder to go back. I wouldn't know. This is year 8 for me. Working on degree #5. Oh, well. I'm burned out, but I encourage anyone to take their education as far as they can.

Greetings, I am a 1991 graduate of EKU's BSN program. Yes, it is very tough,but it is worth it. Getting my nursing degree was the best thing I ever did for myself. You can really be proud of your nursing degree from EKU. It is regarded as one of the top nursing programs in the state. Once you get through it, you can get a job anywhere. Nursing is so broad. If you don't like med/surg, you can go into surgery. If you don't like surgery, you can go into psych, or OB, or Peds and on and on. Most nurses I know are making from 25 to 30 dollars an hour. That is a decent living and the need for nurses will always be there. You cannot go wrong with a career in nursing. Look at yourself as a sponge and soak up everything you possibly can. In the beginning you may ask, how does this apply to nursing? It does. So just learn it. Soon you will see it all come together and how to apply it to your every day job. The better you learn the beginning basics, the better chance you have being successful with the next degree. And, it is like a tattoo, once you have one you want another one. (degree). HA!
