Does anyone know about Jewish Hospital in Louisville? They have an RN open house tomorrow and I may go. I don't know anyone who works there and would like to hear anything you may have to share. Do their nurses tend to be happy, how does their pay compare to others--that type of thing?
My sister, who is a CNA at UofL Hospital said that Jewish pays more than most hospitals. She also said they pay more for education and they have more incentives (sign on bonuses and such).
Oh yeah- and their infection rates are out the wazoo. My grandfather died there after a knee replacement, because he got MRSA in the closed operative site.
They have carpet in the pt. rooms: one of our surgeons told me that the carpet was cultured, and tons of microbes were found there. yet, they keep the carpet. Go figure. they also had an aspergillis (sp?) breakout a couple of years ago.
