I used to do "local" travel, but to be honest, the money is better these days in prn agency. I get contracts frequently from my prn agency, and it is much easier to find a "good fit" since I almost always work many non-contracted shifts prior to taking a contract assignment. From experience, you are best to work with an agency based out of KC or Topeka. They have way better rates.

I am an RN by the way, but I work alongside many agency LPN's. Look for rates to be in the $19-26/hour range.

I have worked for several. My top choice is Cascade Health Services. Great staffers (all seasoned veterans) and the best pay rates overall. I have also worked for StarMed with mixed results (bought out by Intellistaff) and Alacrity (their paychecks bounce like rubber balls!!!! eek!!!).

Cascade has offices in Topeka and KC. I have actually worked some shifts down your way for them in fact.

Not a problem.

I'm an RN but work with a lot of agency LPN's.

Good luck!
