Intern/Extern experiences in KC?

Next summer I will be in KC and would love to have an externship/internship. I saw that Menorah has some paid internships for senior students in several different settings, but couldn't find anything in any of the other area hospitals.

Does anyone have personal experience with this in the KC area? What about unpaid opportunities?
