Relocating to Iowa

Hello Iowa nurses! Have any of you relocated to Iowa from another state(having been licensed in another state prior to moving)? What kind of hassles, if any, did you have in obtaining a new Iowa license? Is it necessary to move there first and THEN apply or could I obtain it prior to moving? Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

Re: Relocating to Iowa

My relocation from Illinois to Iowa went pretty smoothly. I recall while I was still in IL, I called the IA BON to request an endorsement application packet; the most difficult thing was getting the IL department to send the required info to IA. Here's a link for info - http://www.state.ia.us/nursing/licen...dorsement.html
Hope that's helpful! Good luck!
