Hi,ya all-
I have applied to ICCC in Fort Dodge and Webster City, Ellsworth and DMACC as well. Any thoughts on the programs from anyone would be appreciated!!
I want to get my RN and then go on for my BSN. I am tired of working two jobs all the time, never having anytime with my family and being so tired, I could sleep anyplace, anytime.
Also any thoughts about how to prepare oneself for return to school after being out for awhile?

Are you already a LPN? I had troubles getting into MCC and DMACC,as they require so many prereqs. I ended up going with Hamilton College in Des Moines, and love it. Everyone says it's so expensive, but it equaled out to about the same as MCC would've been, as books are already provided at Hamilton, so you don't have to pay for that, and uniforms are provided for clinicals. I've just finished finals for 2nd term, got B's in all courses. Only 22 weeks to go, whoo hoo. Good luck.

Sorry, I had another idea. You could also look into ISU/Indiana State University's online program for LPN to BSN if your already an LPN. I will be starting that in April, and have heard nothing but good things about it!

Hi! I just wanted to share that I am going to be a new student at Hamilton in Cedar Falls. what do you think of the classes? I love that Hamilton provides uniforms and books. I used to attend Allen College, but it just got to be too expensive and they always had "just one more thing" to buy. (Guess I should try to change my username huh?!)

I went back at age 28 after being an LPN since I was 22. I got caught up in the get up, go to work, come home and take care of my family, go to bed, get up, go to work...etc. etc.....and I just bit the bullet and went back to school. I worked for a nursing home that had tuition assistance and with that and in conjunction with my Montgomery GI bill money (and still working full time) I did it. I prayed hard and let God get me through it.
My suggestion would be to make sure you have any classes out of the way that you can take while waiting to get into a program. Apply early and apply often. Make sure you give yourself enough time to get organized and don't be too tough on yourself. I thought I would have a hard time going back and I actually did pretty well. You just have to want it bad enough.
I graduated from RN school and really don't have intentions on going back for a bachelor's degree. I love working and tried the management thing for a while and that is just not me.
