Question Iowa City area nurses...

Hello All~
Just wondering if any of you work or have friends that may work at the University of Iowa. I am moving from north Iowa to the Cedar Rapids area and have high hopes of getting a job at the U of I. Just wondering how long it usually takes from application time to say interview time to hire time.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

Re: Iowa City area nurses...

I applied in May and just got offered a job last week. It took until the end of June to get my phone interview. Then I had two in person interviews on seperate floors. Both floors ended up offering me the position. Hope this helps.

You can apply online, at the Univ, or Mercy. I am not sure about the VA. I would think you should hear within a short time, less than two weeks. Both the Univ, and Mercy should have openings. Call Human Resources at the hospitals to inquire about your applications. Good luck.

Mercy, U of I and VA hospitals in Iowa city all have online applications. VA you need to print off and mail in but the other 2 you can send online. Also you can look for job openings on mercy and the U sites. the VA doesnt list jobs but I know they are hiring.
