Re: Employer

Thank you for responding. I'm graduating in 3 weeks with my ADN and I have accepted a position at Mercy as a medical float b/w Neurology/Pulmonary Medicine. I didn't check out St. Luke's so I was wandering if you could tell me a little bit of information about that hospital and the starting wage of an RN would be greatly appreciated!

I also was wanting to know about the Nursing Homes in the Cedar Rapids area. I was wanting to pick up a few hours on the side and I was thinking about working in a nursing home, but I don't know what are the good ones to work in and stuff like that. Any information would be wanderful!

Thanks again for replying!,
-Andrea

Re: Employer

I think the starting wage is $15 /hr., but I don't know for sure. You're given extra for each year you've worked. As for nursing homes, I've never worked in one, but I know we like sending our pts. to the Hiawatha Care Center, Cottage Grove Place, and some others. The unit you go to work on should have a print- out of nursing homes in our area. The printouts don't given opinions on facilities, but just list them for the families of patients that need to find a place for their loved one, either short or long term. Good Luck with your new job!
