Post Are you snowed in??

How many of you are snowed in? Did anyone have to go to work today and how were you getting there? I'm lucky, I'm off until Monday and so no plans to get out at all. We have about 20 inches of snow and drifting. I hope everyone has a safe holiday!!

Snowed in??? Yikes.

Nope. We had about 25 snowflakes fall this weekend. That's it. Though they're saying it might snow today.

You have my deepest sympathy.

i'm snowed in! was going to go visit some friends today and drop off some gifts, since i have to work the entire holiday weekend: friday, saturday, sunday. i didn't even know it snowed until i went out to warm up my car

i have about two feet of snow, plus drifting that buried my car, and it's still snowing. i live on a river so that doesn't help either. my daughter had her 4th birthday party last night, so this morning i decided to just give my two kids their gifts since my ex will have them the rest of the weekend.

they're happily playing with their toys now while i am online with my laptop.

i hope the snow stops soon, i don't really feel like shoveling anymore! lol....

YEP!!! My husband could not even get the big old suburban out of the drive this morning. We are under a level 3.... which means if you are caught on the road, it is a fine and possible jail time... unless you are a healthcare or emergency worker going to or from work.

Snowed into the hilt! I have a snowman ruler in my flowergarden, it measures 12 inches and there is a snowman on the top. I looked out this AM and can only see the his head! The news says we have approx 14 inches where I am. At 530AM the phone started ringing, took me forever to realize it was the phone. I work in telcom right now, my office is in one of the counties that declared snow emergencies. It was my manager telling me the office would be closed today! I feel like a kid on a snow day from school!!! I can only ever remember once in the last 20 years of my working career that a place I worked closed for snow. I can vividly remember my Mom packing a bag and waiting to be picked up to go to the hospital (she is an RN) they would send people out to pick up employees who lived close to the hospital. Back in 78 during the blizzard, she was at the hospital for a week before she came back. My Dad was a lineman for the phone company so that whole week Grandma stayed with us and there was no school!!

Anyway, hope everyone gets dug out in time for Christmas!! BE careful out there if you have to go out.

Thanks, but No Thanks!!

I remember the Blizzard of '78!! We were off 19 days of school, I was a Jr. at the time. I worked part-time in dietary at the local hospital, so I worked extra hours when no one could come in. There was nothing else to do. We lived in town at that time, now I live in the country and really don't want to live thru another blizzard like that one!

Can't say I remember 1978 but I do remember our ice storm of 1998 here in Eastern Ontario. It was horrible. google it . It's very interesting and makes me happy with any weather we get because nothing can be worse than that.

It must be pretty bad to be snowed in in the country. With no snow plows and such. That's a lot of digging. Ground -hog -like- digging.
