Re: Score to get in and program mean??

rockexrolloh,

I applied for the ASN in Logansport. I have almost the same score as you do. All As depending on whether I keep up my A in ANP 2 and an 87 on the TEAS.

I am scared too. There are only 20 spots available at Logan.

Anyway...Just wanted to let you know I'm waiting with you.

Good Luck!!

wishNhopeNdreamN,

Out of curiousity, can you apply if you are currently enrolled in one of the pre-reqs?? I wish I would've known that before.
Goodluck getting in!! Let me know how it goes. Muncie only accepts 30!

Hi,
No, you have to have the 4 pre-req's done and graded before you can apply.
FYI- This year muncie only accepted 20 students for the transitional program.

I'm not going for transitional, just straight to RN. I was told they are taking 60 total which comes down to 30 in Muncie, 20 in Anderson, and 10 in New Castle.

Re: Score to get in and program mean??

Normally you have to wait out a semester but, at least where I am my advisor is allowing those of us now in ANP 102 to apply as our grade will be available before the letters go out. This came straight from the head of Nursing at Logan. I do not know if other programs are being as lenient. I just know when I was advised to apply for Fall 08 she told me I could becausef the Summer break gave her the oppurtunity to allow for it.

I don't know if this makes a difference or not but, this is also the first ASN program at Logan ever. So maybe that plays into it as well.

Re: Score to get in and program mean??

Bloomington says you can apply, but that any prereq you are in for the semester directly prior to the start of the nursing program, you won't get points for.

So like Fall 08 you're in ANP2 for example, and you apply to Spring 09, you won't get any of the 30 points possible for ANP2 on your application.

Re: Score to get in and program mean??

At Bloomington, you cannot apply until your have All 4 pre-req's done and graded.

Since they are PRE_REQ's that means you have to have them before you apply.....per Tabitha Barrow...secretary at Ivy Tech B-Town and from Vicky Lewis- nursing chair.

Re: Score to get in and program mean??

In the nursing info it states the same thing that you said that the points for the preceding semester would not count. I questioned Marian Henry face to face and she assured me she would be going back at the end of the semester to add the points to reflect this semester. She also stated she normally can not do that but because of the summer break she is able to. She said this to me in front of two other hopefuls. I am taking her word for it since she is in charge of the Nursing program here.
