Depends on the area.
I have 16 years experience and worked in a peds office 4 years ago. I was making 16.00 an hour with a guarantee of 60 hours per 2 weeks. ( even if I only worked 30). Depends on the contract you negotiate with the doctor.
Easier to do in a small office than a multi-physician practice.
I live in a small town and worked in a dr office as a cma for 10 years. (LPN now) i was making 11.50 when i left to go back to school 10-2004. they pay isnt great in my area...but working in a df office is a good job...no weekends, holidays, late nites etc..but the $$ is not good..in northwest In small town. good lucj
