There's allot to say about this. I am currently enrolled and wish I hadn't. The school just opened the RN program. The 1st class started Sept 07. And a new class started each new quarter. So there are currently 3 classes/ groups of students. The requirements for admission are to have a high school diploma or GED, and then to take and pass the TEAS test. There seemed to be problems when I started that I tried to chalk up as the program being new, but increasingly there are more and more issues. So please think carefully before enrolling at this institution. The school is a for-profit and will try to get everyone to enroll. From my understanding there are only 30 spots for each starting class. I was told that those spots would be filled by the 30 top passing TEAS scorers.
At this school none of your credits will transfer to another college. So if are planning to continue your education beyond an associate degree, then this school is not for you!!!!! One of the issues is that per school policy, they will only accept up to six transfer classes’ total for the program from other colleges. For some, that was a hard blow if they had completed credits at IUPUI, Ivy Tech, & other schools. I overheard some students talking about the registrar’s office. Some of them said they were given many excuses to not transfer credits and even alleged that the registrar’s office lost their transcripts. One student claimed hers were lost 3 times. Now, that’s crazy! I understand that it is the school’s policy and it’s up to their discretion, but some people where told that some of their credits would transfer only to find out later that the school would not accept them. That matters because each class is at least 4 credit hours. And at $446 a credit hour, that is over $1600 per class you have to take. Then also for some there were certain classes they would not accept the credit for. Example: I know of one person who had all of the covered science classes completed somewhere else except for microbiology. She had chemistry, biology, and physics done. The required course class at ITT is Survey of the sciences, that’s one class (That is supposed to incorporate all of those classes into one.) Per ITT the course description reads;
GE150 Survey of the Sciences+| A 4 credit hour Science course
This survey course is designed to familiarize the student with the methods of rational inquiry and problem solving in the physical sciences. Students will explore a selection of topics in the scientific fields including physics, chemistry, biology and earth science to develop basic scientific literacy and the ability to critically analyze issues of science. (Do you see micro in that description or is it just me?)
ITT told her that she was required to take that class because she didn’t have micro. I have to be honest, during that class we had 1 week/ which was one class where we covered micro. I don’t see how that one 4 hour class (Only 1 hour was spent on micro) would cause someone who knew everything else from all the other 11 weeks of class should have been required to take that class. Apparently, it’s all about profit. Money, money, money.
Then now I recently heard that Sallie Mae, whom ITT used to be the primary loan facilitator, is backing out of dealing with ITT nationwide come Sept this year. There were several articles citing the bad economy and not wanting to continue lending to the high risk students of ITT and schools like ITT. So I am left her wondering how I will be able to finance school for the next upcoming school year. (Unfortunately, I am a high-risk "Bad Credit") My advice would be to run the other way like hell and never look back. I also googled complaints against ITT and they are numerous. Learn all you can and then make up your mind. By the way, the total 2yr RN program should cost around $40,000, which doesn’t include taxes and finance charges. Is it worth it to you? Only you can decide that for yourself. As for me, I feel I have no other choice. It's not opptional, I have to succeed because when these student loans come due, there's no way around paying them. I took out $13,000 in loans last year. I will need to do the same next school year too, if I can even get a loan.

I have heard a little about 2 other programs, 2 yr RN Schools that recently opened up. There is the (Indiana Business College) IBC RN program and the MED Tech College RN program. Both are located locally. IBC is in Indianapolis and Med TechCollege is in Greenwood. Maybe check into all of you options before you commit to any school. I sure wish I had.

Holy Crap---at 1st when I saw the thread of this post I thought "oh sweet another nursing program in town" As i have a daughter who is a Jr in High School and wants to be a nurse and even though I would love her to go to my beloved Saint Francis--you just dont know, so if she could get in somewhere OK.
But geez louise, ITT sounds like a racket and I feel for those attending. THat much per credit hour and the credits are not even transferable???
You may want to cut your losses while your ahead---wonder what their pass rate is going to be when it comes time for boards.
I have heard of more and more nursing schools opening up like this, they know so many people so badly want to become an RN and it is so competitive they feed on that need.
