How did you continue on from your ASN degree?

Hey everyone,

I just recently graduated from Ivy Tech with my ASN degree and am wanting to continue on for my BSN and eventually my master's. I would consider going straight for my master's if I could figure out the evolving doors of online education!

What I am wondering is do any of you know the shortest pre-req route to a BSN or Master's with the Ivy tech degree?

Thanks!

There are many online RN-BSN programs, and many on campus RN-BSN programs. Rush University (Chicago) has an ADN-MSN program. There really are so many out there for both options. I don't think graduating from IVY TECH will hinder any of your continued studies, other than having to take a statistics class, etc. that many of us ADNs didn't do in our ADN programs anyway. I don't know where you are located, but I am in northern Indiana and there are probably greater than 15 programs I can think of in this near area (South Bend, Fort Wayne, Chicago, Calumet, etc.) Google It!

I'm not saying that Ivy Tech hindered anything.... I was just looking to see what other people have done for there BSN as they may have understanding as to which program requires less of the pre-reqs when you have attended Ivy Tech.

Thanks for your reply.

What about Indiana Wesleyn? It's not online, but don't they have a one night a week class? I think you get your BSN in 18mos? You may want to check it out.

Re: How did you continue on from your ASN degree?

There are some "bridge" programs now. At Frontier, for example, you take one year of bridge classes, basically skip your BSN, and start MSN classes. You aren't actually awarded a BSN. I guess this is "allowed" as long as you aren't going for the nurse anesthetist program.

I plan to get my CNM this way. Frontier also has an FNP program, and I believe Rush also has a bridge program.
