Are there any gary ivy tech grads out there who can give some much needed advive. I'm in my first clinical with Mrs. D, and everytime we ask her a question all she says is "Well think about it". And doesn't answer our questions. Also pharm is really challenging Mrs. L says her exams are from the book and her lectures. But as someone who records her lectures, I haven't found that to be the case. Any help would be much appreciated.

Well I just graduated this past July from the LPN program, and I had those teachers as well. It can be very challenging with Mrs. D, but hang in there and DON'T let her break you. That's what she's trying to do. Her thing is, if you want to REALLY be a nurse you have to be able to deal with tougher things other than what she dishes out. And if you can't take her how will you deal with those doctor's out there?? And when she says that nursing is "Critical Thinking", she is serious. She does not answer questions for you, you have to figure it out on your own. She told me that she won't be there to answer my questions when I start to work as a nurse. And she was right. There are going to be situations that YOU have to call the shots and there may be no one around to ask...then what? You know???As for Ms. L, Just pray and pray hard!!!! I passed that class by the skin of my teeth, I went into her final with a 73% and came out with a 74.7%...enough to bump me to a 75%. But the mistake I made was that I didn't study the drugs like I should have. Study those day in and day out! All I have to say is good luck and stick to it. Study like you've never studied before.
