Question on Rush University Medical Center interview?

Any one has applied Rush before? How long do they usually call you back for interview after your application? I am now working in MICU for a local hospital and just got CCRN certified this year. I am very interested in the SICU opening in Rush. They offer 3 month in-deapth orientation. I graduate last year from nursing school.Although I have been working in ICU for a year , I am still in a mood to learn new things. So I am really interested in this opportunity. I submitted my resume two weeks ago and haven't got any call yet. I am wondering how long do you guys wait for them to call back? Any words or suggestions would be appreciated . Thanks !

I guess Rush is very selective. Sent resume online a couple of weeks ago, no call yet.

Call the recruiter. In my experience, applications submitted online are often overlooked, whereas if you get the recruiter on the phone, you may be able to set up an interview. Be very proactive with Rush.

Thanks for your suggestion !

I did call the recruiter last week. Here it's her response, “Thank you for your interested in Rush. I did receive your resume last week and it had been forwarded to the department for review. If they are interested I will be in touch with you in the near future." Any more I can do ? I am really interested in this job opportunity.

Thanks again in advance !

This is way after the fact, but anyone in similar situation should give a followup call every few weeks or so. Emails that convey a positive motivation to work there may also help. Just try to straddle that line between being proactive and irritating
