Wow, I have been on this website for months and never knew there was a region section where I can actually talk to people from my area

duh? Anyhow, I am so glad I found this. So I need help!!! I am currently a stay at home mom of 2 kids ages 4 and 8. I am 33 years old and I AM returning to school. I live in the south suburbs. I can't decide between Social work or nursing. I will be going to Moraine Valley for nursing, but have to take all the pre-reqs. So first, can someone tell me is it even worth a mom of 2 kids doing this? I heard moraine is so hard. I like nursing because of thejob description, money, schedule, stability, patienct contact. etc., but i am horrible at math and science. I love the mental health field and would like to work with adolecents in crises (eating disorders, substance abuse, depression). Now, I also am leaning towards social work. But i would have to go to Governors state university, which is farther for me, more expensive and to make any money i need to get my masters degree, which will take me forever parttime. I am planning on registering at moraine for the cna class in oct of 2008 (this fall). But i need to make sure i can do this. Or if i am better off with social work. My heart leads me to both! I know with nursing i can get my cna and start working immediately (i had job offers from palos hospital in adolscent psych unit and timberline knolls, but with certificatin they couldn't hire me).
