Well Hello all. I am a new 1st year nursing student. I stay in the far south burbs of Chicago. You've got to love Chicago, and it's one day it is hot the next day its cool. My kind of town CHICAGO is....!!!!!!!
Grew up in NW Chicago and burbs. Started out in Jefferson Park and then moved to Des Plaines where I grew up to 18 when I joined the USAF. I sometimes (read SOMEtimes) miss Chicago terribly but August is NOT one of them -----nor is February.
The weather extremes are NOT a thing I miss. The people, food, feel of the place I DO miss terribly. Someday, I will make it back there for a visit.........and a GREAT gyro or Chicago hotdog or deep dish pizza only the Windy City can serve up. YUM.
Well Jade I am attending South Suburban Community College in South Holland. That's in the very far south suburbs. 159th Street to be exact. What about you???
I'm an IL native, and back home after 10 (very long) years on the East Coast. Graduated from NIU, and worked in OB and NICU for 11 years. I'm now a stay at home mom, but with my baby starting kindergarten today, I'm looking for part-time, non-hospital work. Possibly as a substitute school nurse. As you may guess by my screen name, I'm also in the very far southwest suburbs. Good to meet you all!
