IDPR and temporary license

I wanted to know if anyone has ever had a similar situation and how long it took to receive your temporary license. My application was sent to IDPR (Illinois Department of Professional Regulation) because I had a DUI seven years ago and had to write up a personal statement. It has been three weeks since they received my application and I was wondering if anyone has had something like this occur? How long did it take CTS (Continental testing Services) to issue you a temporary license?
Thanks

Re: IDPR and temporary license

dont feel bad - i will be going through the same process, only with two felony convictions from 1991. i called the idpr and was told that, because we are a licensed profession, that it is legal to work while waiting for our license.

the board will review license applications when they meet in september, or at leat the idpr told me over the phone. good luck.

I have no felony. Got my temporary license in about 10 days.

Re: IDPR and temporary license

I received my temporary license in about 2-3 wks and I'm in Illinois. I am awaiting my background clearance. I know there should be nothing there. I've only ever had a ticket and that was thrown out lol. God Bless!

Re: IDPR and temporary license

I didn't realize they issued temporary licenses. I just received my regular license. Is this something new? Just curious.

Re: IDPR and temporary license

They issue temporary licenses if you are already an RN who is moving to IL. However, there are no more temp licenses for new grads - this changed in Jan 08. Hope this clarifies things for you.
