Employee Freeze

Does anyone find it hard to switch floors within the same hospital? I have heard that some places will put on an employee freeze to keep there where you were trained. I have heard this from a few people at the hospital I am applying to. I was just wondering if it happens anywhere else.

Re: Employee Freeze

What hospitals are you applying to? I'm moving out there after graduation and would really like to know this info if I don't get hired into the area I prefer. Are you in the Boise area?

I am going to wrok for Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center which is located in Idaho Falls. If you are going to Boise I have heard that St. Alphonsus is an awesome place to work! Where are you going to school?

Re: Employee Freeze

I'm in the Las Vegas. I'm going into my last semester and will graduate Dec. 15th. We've been planning this move for almost 2 years now and I can't wait!! I'm waiting on a package from St. Luke's for recruitment. It doesn't look like they prepare to hire December grads until Fall, but I'm wanting to get out there this summer to start landing an RN position. When school starts back up in August, I won't have any time to do this. I'm wanting to start in Maternal/Child and it doesn't look like any of the hospitals do this.
