Oahu, is the larger populated state and we have the most hospitals but the hospitals are saturated with new grads and experienced nurses who have 2 or more jobs...so there is no positions available. even queens who diligently hire nwe grads are on a nurse hiring freeze.
I say stay were you are and try to find a job.
I have to say that if someone wants to relocate to Oahu and is a new graduate nurse they should get at least two years experience wherever they are and THEN move to Oahu.
We have so many new grads here that it is becoming dangerous. Cocky new grads, so few resource people. It is so tiring for the experienced nurses.
Years ago it was unheard of for new grads to start out in ICU. Now it seems they are being hired by the truckload.
The experienced nurses are expected to pick up the slack and precept the new hires. Sometimes the new grads are NOT appropriate for ICU. IMO they should get some floor experience first.
But this is what is happening and it is scary, IMO.
