Cool The real scoop on salaries

Hi everyone,

My husband grew up in Ewa Beach and we have been talking about moving back for, oh, about a year. But now we are getting more serious and are planning to move this winter. I'm a peds RN in Oregon right now, and from what I can tell, OR and HI RN salaries are about the same. But we all know the cost of living is massively different! What is up with that??

My salary here is about 30/hour (with a year and a half experience). What are some averages there? I have looked online, and have only found the salary ranges posted on the Queen's website. Are all hospitals comparable? I am interetested in hearing from the real nurses. What do you take home each month?

When I do move, I hope to get a job at Kapiolani - I just can't imagine doing anything but peds!

Thanks for sharing - I really appreciate it. Oh, I'm wondering about full-time, permanent positions (not travelers)-that's why I started a new post (I know there is one below but it seemed to be focused on traveler pay - thanks guys!)

Re: The real scoop on salaries

The salaries on Oahu are all about the same, with minor variations. The Queens pay scale, which you have seen online, is about all there is here.

Clinics pay less regardless of whether they are associated with a hospital.
