Wondered if anyone out there could help me with info on the nursing situation on Kauai. Hope to relocate and looking for anything that may use certifications of COHN-S/CM, CCM or LNCC. I have always wanted to be on Kauai since our first visit in 1997. Now we are in a position to be able to do that now that my husband has retired. Will be there Jan. 13th through 20th so any info would be great!!!!! Looking forward to reply......Happy New Year!!!

So I went to Kauai, Hawaii and checked into the hospitals on the island. What I learned was that all the recruiters are on Oahu for Wilcox and though I tried several times to connect with them.....had no success. I left a message with a live person and was given some hope for need and encouragement regarding my potential to fill the bill. But, to date 01/24/08 have not heard a word. Would like to start out as a traveler at least to Kauai but still no info forthcoming on the best one to join to actually get there.

i moved here in september 2007, Ive been looking for a job every since.
Im an LPN/LVN and I hear if your a LPN "good luck" finding jobs here is almost impossible. There are a few long term facilities.
and Wilcox hospital only hires RNs. Its a real bummer, but if you dont have to struggle and find a job quickly I guess you could just wait around like me... But it probly doesnt help that Im a new grad either.. I really dont know why this is other than this island is so darn small.
