I will be getting my LPN in NC then moving to Atlanta to do LPN-RN will working. If I have to do LTC until I graduate that's fine. But if it will be hard to find a job perhaps I'd be better off getting my AND?
Dreamon, you can find a hospital job in Atlanta: Grady, Southern Regional, Gwinnett Medical Center, Paulding Hospital and Northside Hospital hire LPNs for sure. Also, you can work for Kaiser Permanente, Emory Clinic, corrections, and home health. If you want to work a 9-5 you can do appeals, QA or work as a research coordinator. LPNs in the Atlanta area have lots of options. This is not what I heard, this is what I know, either from working at these places or because I know someone who works there. No, the jobs are not as plentiful as they are for RNs but they exist and you should not have to work LTC if you don't want to. I can't testify as to the pay but the jobs are here.
