Re: Kaylim Career Center, anyone?

Hi,
I had the intention of attending a seminar in sept 06===got there late so they gave me a brief summary and the paper work........still debating on what to do

DLSI-tutorial guide/textbooks 350.00 each
7 general nursing guides (if u need all core classes) 2,450.00
7 nursing classes 2,450.00
---------------------------
total: 4,900.00

Kaylim-tutoring/prep services 295.00 each
a. gen ed core tutition 7 = 2,065.00
b. nursing core tutition 7 = 1,925.00
c. cpne clinical prep 1 = 295.00
d. nclex prep 1 =295.00
-----------------------------------
total : 4,720.00

they have financing options

you pay or your testing out of pocket as u go,
u also have to pay for excelsior college fees
neither of these are included in above pricing

Re: Kaylim Career Center, anyone?

Hi. I saw their website too. I noticed their schedule was from ages ago. If know if you call them though they can give you all the information you need. They said their web host disappeared and they can't get on to update it. I know someone who goes there though and I heard they were an awesome alternative to a traditional school. You should call them. I don't know their number but I'm sure you can google it. But I agree with you. They need an updated schedule. :-)

Re: Kaylim Career Center, anyone?

Does Kaylim have a lpn program or is it just lpn to rn? is it in Atlanta? I am trying to find a lpn school in atlanta that may not have such a long waiting list.

I dont think they have one. Try Chattahoochee Tech. I don't know if they have a waiting list though. Sorry I couldn't help more. :-)

Re: Kaylim Career Center, anyone?

Hello All,
I enrolled in kaylim, I really like it.
It is funny because I see many nurses
that i use to work. Alot of the nurses
at kaylim that i talk to are tired of the
self study or the long waiting list at the
colleges. The actual program is in Atlanta
with 2 locations. They usuallly have the
information session at least once a month.
Anyone interested can call the toll free
number to find out the next info date.

Re: Kaylim Career Center, anyone?

If you go to Kaylim would actually be getting your Nursing degree through Excelsior College which a distance learning program. I am started the excelsior program now and have thought about going to Kaylim for motivation.

what concept number are you studying now at the kaylim center?

Re: Kaylim Career Center, anyone?

Hi Sunny,
I am studying NC 2 right now. If you have a valid LPN license NC 2 is not required by excelsior, but the info will be on state board and from what i understand some info on NC 2 is covered on the test for NC 1. Kaylim is not affiliated with excelsior, nor do they claim to be. You still pay all your regular fees to excelsior and enroll with them as if you were studying on your own. Kaylim is basically a school type setting with instructor and other students to bounce your info off, so that if you have questions you have someone to ask. I myself am enjoying it, got tired of self study. I have completed NC 1 currently doing NC 2 then i will do micro and anatomy after that I will pick up NC 3-7. You know before you can test for NC 3 you have to be enrolled with excelsior and once enrolled with excelsior you have a certain time to complete or you have to pay fees again. Also if you can try to enroll in excelsior (app fee and enrollment fee) by end of Sept 07===starting Oct 07 an additional NC will be required and an assessment class. If you have more questions feed free to email me: Take care
