It depends if you want to be close to the city or not. Also take into consideration where you work and traffic.

I too am looking to relocate to the Atlanta area. Moving from small town TEXAS. I want a good area, with low crime in close distance to hospitals. Thanks for you help!

You're from Beaumont. I'm from Houston. Cool. Two Texans trying to relocate to Atlanta.

There are alot of hospitals down town so you may want to live close to there or somewhere on the transit system because you may want to ride the treain to work. Some of the cities are Decatur, Sandy Springs, Chamblee, Roswell, Marietta, and Stone Mountain. It is hard to say what would be a good place if you don't know where you want to work.

If you are looking for low crime, Atlanta is not the place to be. I relocated to Hampton (30 miles south of Atlanta) and the devastation on the news EVERY-SINGLE-DAY....just don't turn the TV on and you'll be ok.

some parts of the city has low crime but I too moved far out I stay in conyers. I used to live in the sandy springs, Roswell area and I did not have a problem there either.

I live in Kennesaw and it's not too bad either. But the drive/traffic is hell-ish!
