Re: GPC Fall 08?

GPC isnt the only nursing school out there. If you want an ADN degree try Gordon College in Barnesville, Ga. Sure it's far but 9 times out of 10 you can find someone to carpool with. When I went there, there were people driving grom Gainesville, Newnan, even Alabama. North Georgia also has a great ADN program (so I've heard) Keep your head up.

Re: GPC Fall 08?

NurseBunky,

Do you currently attend Gordon? What class(es) do they schedule for the first semester?

Just checking to see if I have options to transfer if GPC is too hard.

Re: GPC Fall 08?

I graduated from Gordon in 2006 but I did transfer to their school after I withdrew from GPC in 2003. I couldnt start their program until the followin fall b/c at that time Gordon only accepted students in the fall. Now they have a fall and spring admission.
All nursing schools are difficult but it helps when professors actually care about their students. You defintley have options though!

Re: GPC Fall 08?

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that after a LONG wait, I got my acceptance letter today! I'm so excited! I wrote a letter asking for consideration if spots became available, and I guess they did! I'm so happy I can hardly stand it! I can't wait to start! Where is everyone taking the CPR Course? Also, can any doctor look up my immunization record? I haven't been to a regular doctor (besides my OB/GYN) in years...

Thumbs up Re: GPC Fall 08?

Congrats to all of you who will be starting GPC in the Fall. I'll be in my 3rd semester this Fall. It really doesn't matter which campus you decide to go to since you'll receive the same instructors. Some ppl live close to the Lawrenceville campus and others the Clarkston (Main) campus. For 1921 (1st semester) orientation, I believe everyone met up at the Clarkston campus.

The last 2 semesters were difficult, but a lot of fun. I've met many that I hope to be friends with for the rest of my life. Regardless to all the bad press GPC receives, I've enjoyed my experience and I know I'll be a wonderful nurse. I don't think that there is any program out there that is perfect. A lot can and has been changed. You need to stay on top of everything and stay organized...........ORGANIZED and FOCUSED.

As far as immunizations, go to your local health department. They'll be able to help you out. I get me PPD there yearly. I think it cost like 20 bucks.

If anyone have a ?'s feel free to PM me.

Re: GPC Fall 08?

I'm not sure where to take the CPR. The packet that we recieved says it cost like $30 but I can't find it anywhere under like $80 plus you have to buy a book I think.

Let me know if you find something better.
