I recently graduated from LPN school and I'm fixing to make a lot of life changes. I got divorced after 16 years of marriage during school (yes, this was a very stressful year) and I've found an apartment in Coweta County (Newnan area) I'm interested in.

I was curious if anyone knew what kind of job market there is for a new grad LPN in that area. I've looked around but it still makes me a bit uneasy.

Steph, you're exactly where I want to be in 10 months. I'm in an LPN program right now and plan to make some big changes similar to yours in the coming months. I hope to bridge over to RN shortly after graduating, but I'll have to work at the same time, so I'm very curious to know what types of LPN positions are out there, what they pay, and how flexible they are with hours.

Hi dmarie (GA). Thanks for the congratulations. It feels a little strange that school is over. It's almost like all this time I've been so stressed out that I forgot to breathe Actually, I received my ATT this morning, but since I'm moving this weekend, I'm going to schedule for about two weeks after that.

10 months from now, you'll be posting on here that you've graduated If you're anything like me, the more obstacles that get in the way, the harder you push (of course I do have days where I look up at the sky and say. "OK, this is enough).

Congrats again! You'll do fine on the NCLEX. Which LPN program did you complete? I'm at Lanier Tech in Forsyth and really love the instructors there. I left the GPC RN program in the Spring after Med-Surg. because of the countless problems there, so I'm finding the LPN program to be less stressful and not so difficult.

Hi I'm also a new LPN. Graduated in Sep and licensed in Oct. I'm wondering the same thing that you are. I plan nextweek to go in and apply at some of the local LTC facilities. I was advised to do this after not having so much luck at the hospitals in the area (most want you to have hospital experience unless you're a RN... so where do you get the hospital experience?). Most LPN's on this website said that they have had success in finding jobs in LTC. It's not what I planned to do, but I have so many years to decide on my specialty, plus I'm starting school all over again in January. So... I will let you know how things go.

Hello loriwga,

I saw one of your other responses that said you already had your BA in Psych, and were looking for a nursing school, did you find one? Also, is your job at Emory as an LPN? I graduated from Emory in 1996 and am debating whether or not to go back.

No I am still trying to find a nursing school. I am not an LPN at Emory. Do you have any suggestions for schools. The problem I have is that I work during the day time and most of the schools classes are day. I work at Emory Healthcare in Nursing Services as a Sr. Secretary. You should look at coming to work at Emory it is a great hospital.
