I'm filling out the paperwork from the florida board of nursing site and notice a section on the application stating a 2hrs continuing education course is required to sit for the exam. I tried to register for the course online on nurse.com but needed a license number(which I cant get until AFTER i've passed the exam) so what the heck is going on??

Just check the box saying that you completed the required class, they are not going to ask for proof. By the way, which school did you attend? I went to BCC in Broward County, Florida and they gave us that class.

I'm going to Manatee Community College, and they have us doing this during our first semester online.

Btw, how long did it take for you guys to receive your att letter after submitting and paying for everything?? I know the florida board of nursing says within 30 days but normally how long would it be?? A friend of mine sent in her application on the 11th and hopefully she'll get it by the end of this week.

I've paid pearsonvue already so i should be receiving it via email, hopefully that will shorten the waiting time.

Putting something on the form that states that one has taken a course when they have not, could be misconstrued as falsifying a document.

Recommend that you check directly with the BON.
Continuing education or CEUs are needed for relicensure every two years but not for initial licensure.

I posted this in another thread but you should have taken it during school and received something from them stating that. We got little certificates. Check with your school and if you have taken just check the box. They don't want proof at this time but if you ever get audited you're going to need a copy proving that you've taken it.

ATT, I received mine in 10 mins AFTER I had already gotten my GPN status from the state. Everyone else in my class that paid for it before they got GPN status had it within two weeks. It may take longer now because a lot of schools have graduated this past May (we graduated in March).

I do recall taking little quizzes/mini tests during health assessment lab first semester on medical error and other topics but I dont remember getting a certificate or printing anything out...at the time i didnt think it was anything important, just some nonsense my school wanted us to do to kill time... this may have been the c.e.

Just in case i've already completed it online and printed out the certificate.

Ours was built into practicum because of the new requirement, check with area hospitals, you most likely will be able to complete it through one of them, as for checking the box, big NO NO! that is flat out lying and just not something an ethical person or graduate nurse should ever do! As for the ATT, we did ours completely online, I registered and payed late afternoon on the 13th, our packets were sent in the 17th and our names electronically submitted on the 18th and I recieved my ATT via email on Weds and am scheduled to test July 14th, a few of my friends had WIA scholarships to pay for theirs and their applications to the state and pearson were sent on te 17th with a check and they have not recieved their ATT yet, I am still waitin on the GN statement from the board but not too concerned about it as my orientation starts the 17th so by then I'll be licensed and can go straight to my unit the following week
