PA to FL

by DHnurse

My family is relocating to Melbourne, FL. Has anyone moved from PA to FL? If so, will I have to take the dreaded NCLEX again? The state board site just says it must be comparable to FL NCLEX or more stringent. I took mine in 5/03 and hate to have to do it again. Any information about Melbourne would also be appreciated. Thank you, Christine

Default Florida
Florida is notorious for making it difficult to get health care licensure.
You will not have to take the NCLEX again, but you will have to take their HIV course and deal with their waiting period and high costs. Once all that is done though it will be no problem.

Melbourne is a beautiful place, somewhat of a resort town but with plenty of year round residents to keep it from suffering in the off season and not overwhelmed with tourist in season.

The Blueberry Muffin has great food!

DoctorRN - Thank you so much for your reply. It will take us a while to sell our house, so I can get it in the works from up here I hope. We are very excited to move. The cold gets to you. I'll have to try that Blueberry Muffin. Christine
