She will not hold your hand, but she voices her confidence in you which is something you will need (eventually) to survive in this program. I am on my way to GI/GU in January. I have seen us cut down to half so far. What makes the program so hard is not really the material, but the delivery. The theory class is.... We read the powerpoints, read our Perry and Potter, then have the powerpoints read back to us at the lecture. Why not just teach us the information instead? As long as you read your Perry and Potter and know it word for word you will pass. There is no other way around it.
Hi,
Im in Process II now, you are totally right. How did you do in GI?

Re: NE1 have any info on broward community college nursing program?

Hello everyone, I have a question, not sure if i should post it here, but since it has to do with BCC.

I was wondering if anyone can give me some info on their experience in regards to the campus they attend in BCC. I recently got my Pre-Admissions letter and i am undecisive on what campus to attend. I heard that the North Campus is the best campus, But I live in Miami Lakes and the North Campus is Pretty far from me. The closest campus is the central campus.

Please let me know how you like the campus you attend and how you feel about your teachers and anything else you would like to share.

Thanks!

the drive is pretty tough. I know I used to drive from living 5 mins away from UM to pembroke pines.

but south is tough, but your class will be smaller. North accepts the most students. south accepts about 50

Re: NE1 have any info on broward community college nursing program?

IamPatty is definately right about the class size. North admits 120+ in nursing process I. The class is large and the room is not designed in a lecture hall style. So, if you're not in the middle and front of the room, you'll have trouble seeing demos and sometimes powerpoints.

There are a few students in my class who drive from Mia. Perhaps, you can find someone to car pool with.

Also, keep in mind. North campus isn't great, just the lesser of 3 evils. LOL.

Re: NE1 have any info on broward community college nursing program?

Thanks guys...Im gonna go to orientation tomorrow, do you know by when im supposed to make the decision of which campus I choose? when i took the drive to take the application it felt like forever..its about 45 min from my house, but the good thing is that it was all highway. But now that you mention the amount of students they admit in each campus, i think im leaning towards south now..i really rather have smaller classrooms.

Thanks Again for all your help!

Re: NE1 have any info on broward community college nursing program?

They'll give you a registration date at orientation. If you decide to go to south, be prepared to register at 8 am on registration date. If not, they may fill up and you'll have to go to North.

Re: NE1 have any info on broward community college nursing program?

I'm trying to decide if I should apply for an HCA scholarship or a Broward Health scholarship. The amount and terms are the same.

Broward Health hospitals are North Broward Medical Center, Imperial Point, Coral Springs Medical Center, and Broward General Hospital.

HCA hospitals in my area are Plantation General, University, Northwest, etc. HCA has preceptorships for specialties. I like that HCA is nationwide. However, I'm nervous about working for a private hospital.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
