Don't forget the huge roaches....I see a new one every day and they look at me like "what are you doing in my house?".

Only people from up north run their a/c that long. We southerners can stand a little heat and run the air at 78 to 80 degrees. I've had the cheapest bills I've ever had this past year because it's been so mild.

Re: Moving to Florida

The grass is always greener on the other side.

But I have never lived anywhere but FL, The things that make me want to leave is the cost of living, lack of decent jobs, and the overwhelming spanish popping up EVERYWHERE, as far as I know English is the ONLY official language of this country but other than that and a few petty things I love FL, its home.

Anyway,
I know a few people who went into law enforcement training, but I never hear of any big call for them( I don't even know if they finished or anything), Citrus county has a ridiculous amount of police for the population so please don't come here.... I mean that in the nicest way possible ;P

I welcome your move to FL if you are a productive member of Society, and not a retire that can't drive

Re: Moving to Florida

I grew up in Atlanta, lived in Yellowstone, Vail, then came back to Atlanta. Tweety is right, mine is set at 78-80 pretty much 99% of the time. 82 when I'm out of the house.

Moved to S Florida in 2003. It is home to me, and I love it. Everyone is different. I've tried cold climates, tried hot climates, and tried in-between. I hate cold weather, love the beach, and I will die here.
