I heard....

I heard the patient quota issue is back in the state house or the govenor for vote. Florida is supposedly getting patient quotas for the hospitals. I heard the govenor may not okay it. Has anyone heard of this?

I knew about this because we had to do a legislative letter last semester and pick an issue. However, here is the problem, they are trying to regulate patient ratios based upon job title/department title. Even if it passes, hospitals are infamous at working around the issue by "renaming" departments so that they don't have to uphold the patient ratios. I swear the only way to get this to come to Florida is by way of unionization. I love the union but as a soon to be nurse (as of December) I would be way low on the totem pole due to my newness. So I'm mixed about it. However, it is based upon years of experience and whereas I plan on moving back north, it is a concept I'll just have to get used to.
