How do you apply for a Florida nursing license?

Dear Friends,

I am in the process of filling out my Florida Nursing License application.I am a Canadian that went to nursing school in Ontario, and I was first licensed there. After working in Ontario,I moved to Virginia and got my nursing license there and worked there for a few years. Now I am applying for a Florida nursing license!Talk about jumping through hoops! How long will this process take me? I have no special issues like poor health, criminal background or any nursing disciplinary action.I saw a website called "floridanurseslicenses.com".The owner of the company lives in Tallahassee, and for 125$-he will do your application ASAP.Is this worth my while? I read a couple of threads where nurses were saying it took sometimes 6-12 months to get their licenses. Is this true?Or is that just extreme cases.

ANY feedback would be helpful.

Warmest Regards!

I can not see any point in paying someone to do what you can do. Do you have CES already as a foreign trained nurse they may wish that before hand before they will process you application.

Re: How do you apply for a Florida nursing license?

Hi.
I've been doing the "endorsement" for 8 months now. The nursing Board of Florida it's the worst in America. They are slow and will take all the time possible to answer you. They also are making all kind of "obstacles" for foreing nurses to obtain the lisence there. I wrote to that office too explaining my situation. So far, no answer. If you decide to go with them, woukd you keep me posted? Thanks.
