I'm certainly not an expert in this department but for starters pre-reqs is short for pre requisites. These are course you must complete before you can enter nursing school. they can vary from school to school but some are pretty standard, such as Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Microbiology, chemistry. etc.
My suggestion to you is to contact some of the various schools in Florida to see what they have to offer. Some schools stream line the education process for people with medical experience. There is also a website,

I don't live in Florida yet but will as soon as I finish nursing school next year.
I found a hospital, Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville that offers scholarships.
