I know I might sound like a dummy, but I was wondering did any of you get a C in any of the pre-reqs?
I just got my grades and I made a C in AP1...I am not sure if it can be retaken, but if not how much is a C worth when doing the point system?
Thanks!

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!

I personally have not gotten any C's, but don't let that be a gauge for you. Just try very hard to make A's & B's in all of your other pre-reqs & do well on the NAT. An A is 4 pts, B is 3, & C is 2 pts, so you got 2 pts times 4 credit hours for A&P 1, so your total is 8 points for that class.
Hope I helped...
Good luck!

Hello everyone! I'm hoping to apply for Spring 2009.
This is a scary ride for me. I just turned 46 and have two children, one who is home schooled. It's been 26 years since my first round of college. Thank goodness I'm a better student now than I was back in the 80's. I finished this semester with all A's.
Nice to be here!

Yes it did help! I am just so mad at myself for not getting a B at least! I am going to see if it would be okay for me to retake it or if to stick with a C with a counselor soon. Thanks again, it really helped out!

My suggestion would be to take the NAT. If you score high on the NAT then the grades are not as much to worry about. A C to a B is only a 4 point difference so you can try to make that up via your NAT score. You also have time to retake the NAT and score higher. The test is exactly the same the second time, so if you are unhappy with your score then sit down right then and write down what you didn't do well on. Then study that over the next 90 days. Also if you by chance score worse in a different section they will still take your higher score. This also was what my A & P teacher told everyone who was worried about a C.

Thanks for the info; it is good to know. Who was your AP teacher? I have already registered for AP2 at the Deerwood Campus. I hope having it this way will be a lot better. Is there a place where I can buy a practice book for the NAT? How many questions are on the test? How was Micro for you? I took the lab part at another school and got an A, but will have to retake it here because I never took the class. Is there a teacher you would recommend?
Sorry about all the questions, thanks again!!

...Just wanted to let you know that I had 2 C's...but got a 107 on the NAT and made it in the first time for this summer...classes start Tuesday!!
...I wouldn't pay the extra money and spend the extra time to retake the class I would just rock the NAT! Good Luck!

You cannot use names here, but I would go onto ratemyprofessors.com that is a fairly accurate site. My AP teacher is no longer with FCCJ but he was a great man and taught at North campus. I took Micro at Kent, just don't take it hybrid. It may be easier, but I don't feel like I learned a whole lot.
There is a practice book for the NAT, but really isn't worth it since it is so much harder than the test. I would suggest grabbing it too look at and see how the questions will be worded and such.
