Confused

I am very confused. I am pregnant with my due date on Feb/07. I want to go to Nurse School very bad, 1st because I always want to work and be in a amedical field and 2nd the money is good. I've been doing some research online and some schools req. pre requisits. Do you know any school in south FL that does not? How about scholarship? I am currently a PBCC student working on my AA and I went to a nurse prog orientantion and learnt that 200 people apply to 40 space. That is crazy. Any school you would recommend? What should I do? Maybe become a LPN first? If I have to pay to go a private school, so be it (student loan...hahaha). HELP!!!

I am relatively new to this, but based on my research, the only way you can get out of the pre-requisites is to go straight to LPN school.

All you need to get into LPN school is to pass the NET (nursing entrance exam) test and a couple of other exams maybe.

Now if you want to progress from LPN to RN, then yes, you absolutely will need to take pre-requisites and there is no way around it.

Hope this helps, good luck!

dont feel bad busylady, it took me around that amount of time to get to where I was able to go to LPN school too. When I moved to FL I knew thats what I wanted but it took a while, then when I moved to Orlando I applied to Orlando tech and started about 6 months later. Plus, I didnt even have a decent job (at least u have a respectable profession and although the pay isnt great, its better than the type of jobs Ive done before this! lol
Time will fly by and before u know it u will be in the middle of the program or better yet, graduating! and asking urself where time went! Keep your chin up chica!

Re: Confused

Thanks -- you are right! Thanks for the reminder. I am trying to stay focused on that.

This is going to be a great year. Just think, by the end of this year, how much more progress we all will have made toward our goals. Plus along the way we will learn more and more about **nursing** and becoming professionals (or pro's in training) in our new field.

: )

Happy new year, everyone!
