Can anyone give me any information about Cedars Medical in Miami. I know that the University of Miami just purchased the hospital. I just wanted to know the bad and good points.....I might be taking a travel assignment there. Thanks for any info.

Yup, cedars is now UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI HOSPITAL

It is just like any other regular adult hospital. Nothing high tech or modern. Still paper charting.......

My sister-in-law works there in the "special procedures" section (never really cared what that meant, or bother to ask)
but she loves it there, and she's been there for over 5 years.

I don't think they do paper charting. They are sending me to an electronic charting class.

I guess that probably is where my sister-in-law works.... with the paper and all that.

but anyways, she enjoys working there.

Another person I know that used to be a CNA with me, works there as well in a reg medsurg unit. Haven't talked to her in a while, but she says it's ok. hard work, 8-9 pts at night. just like an adult hospital.

Yeah I'll be on the immunology floor, working day shift. Just left South Miami Hospital after a 12month travel assignment and I loved it. I signed on per-diem there so if I don't like Cedars I can always go back to South Miami.

My mother actually passed away at Cedars and I personally blame the lazy Nurse's that were on the penthouse floor.
